European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis on Parliamentary elections that Russia is holding on occupied peninsula
The position of the European Union remains unchanged as the Russian politicians are campaigning in Crimea ahead of Parliamentary elections, scheduled for September 18.
The EU says it will not recognize the voting that will take place on the peninsula, and that goes in line with Europe’s general position towards the annexed territory.
‘When it come to the elections, as you know, the EU adheres to its policy on non-recognition of the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol, and will continue to adhere to it in the future’, EU Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis said, according to Interfax.
