Russian State Duma lost its legitimacy due to illegal elections in occupied territories, Rada states
Ukraine recognized Russian State Duma of the 7th convocation and all its decisions illegitimate, UNIAN informs. Ukrainian Parliament adopted a resolution on non-recognising the legitimacy of the elections to the State Duma of the seventh convocation with all results and the legal consequences. Accordingly, the composition, authority, acts and decisions of the State Duma are also illegitimate, Ukrainian Rada states.
Ukrainian Parliament acknowledged that because of the unlawful conduct of the elections of the State Duma in the temporarily occupied territory of the Ukrainian Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, the elections to the State Duma of the seventh convocation are the violation of the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, the basic principles and norms of international law, the UN Charter, the Helsinki Final Act, Budapest memorandum 1994, the UN General Assembly resolution on Ukraine’s territorial integrity №68 / 262 dated March 27, 2014 and other international instruments.
