The joint investigation team officially named the first four suspects in the shooting down of MH17: this is Igor “Strelkov” Girkin, Sergey “Gloomy” Dubinsky, Oleg “Gyurza” Pulatov and Leonid “Mole” Kharchenko.
According to the JIT, the first three are citizens of Russia who previously served in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the USSR, and Leonid Kharchenko is a citizen of Ukraine without military experience. According to the investigation, they were engaged in deliveries of military equipment from Russia, including the Buk missile system, which shot down the Malaysian Boeing.
All four appear in the report of the Bellingcat investigation team published this morning.
According to investigators, the last three consisted of the intelligence service of the Russian terroristic “Donetsk People’s Republic”, known as the “GRU DPR”, which was directly subordinate to Girkin. Sergey Dubinsky being a subordinate to Girkin, headed “GRU DPR”. The department of this organization was headed by a subordinate of Dubinsky Oleg Pulatov, and the 2nd Division included a reconnaissance battalion commanded by a subordinate of Pulatov Leonid Kharchenko.
